Thrithala is a picturesque and historically significant town located in the Palakkad district of Kerala, India.Thrithala is situated on the banks of the Bharathapuzha River, often referred to as the “River of Bhārata,” which is one of the major rivers in Kerala. It’s approximately 75 kilometers from the city of Palakkad and 40 kilometers from the city of Malappuram.

Thrithala is renowned for its historical and archaeological significance. It’s home to ancient monuments and relics that date back to various periods of Kerala’s history. One of the notable heritage sites in Thrithala is the “Thrithala Kattilamadam” or “Thrithala Palakkadu Heritage,” which is a set of 110 sculptures that are more than 2000 years old. These sculptures depict various deities and mythological figures.

The town is dotted with temples, some of which have a rich history. The Thiruvalathoor Bhagavathy Temple and the Sree Rama Temple are among the prominent temples in Thrithala.Thrithala is known for its association with the famous Thrissur Pooram festival. It serves as one of the main training centers for the elephants that participate in this grand temple festival held in Thrissur. Thrithala is blessed with natural beauty, with lush green landscapes and the flowing Bharathapuzha River adding to its charm. The riverbanks are ideal for picnics and leisurely walks. The town has a vibrant cultural scene with a focus on traditional art forms like Kathakali, Theyyam, and other classical art forms.

Thrithala is home to various educational institutions, including schools and colleges, making it a hub for learning in the region. Thrithala is well-connected by road, making it accessible for tourists and travelers exploring Kerala. The town offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it a pleasant destination for those seeking relaxation and cultural experiences.
