Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls are waterfalls 36 km (22 mi) from Pathanamthitta in Pathanamthitta District, Central Travancore region, Kerala State, India. It is a popular tourist destination situated in Vechoochira Panchayat of Ranni taluk.
The one shore of this waterfall is Kudamurutty and Vechoochira is the other. The main route to this waterfall starts from Ranni – Athikkayam – Kudamurutty – Perunthenaruvi. It is a fine place to spend time with family in a very serene atmosphere. Nearest Railway Station Is Thiruvalla,Located At A Distance Of 49km.Located on the Western Ghats of the Sahyadri Range, Perunthenaruvi is famous for the waterfalls there. The waterfalls are known for their wide area, rather than their height. The stream later unites with the Pamba River. It is beautiful and dangerous at the same time. A popular place in Kerala to relax, and rejuvenate, Perunthenaruvi waterfall by the bank of the Pamba River against the backdrop of the Western ghats is a treat to eyes. The waterfall got its name from the two Malayalam words – Perunthu (great honey) and aruvi (stream). Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls drops down from an elevation of 100 meters and the best time to see it in its full glory has to be the monsoon. Another prompt feature of this unique sightseeing place is its location, which is right on the border of Kudamurutti and Vechoochira.
